PES vs FIFA

FIFA Football (or FIFA Soccer) and Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) are the most successful football (soccer) franchises in the story of videogames. Since Electronic Arts released the first FIFA Soccer game in 1993 the franchise has sold over 100 million games worldwide. Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series (also known as World Soccer: Winning Eleven) came out in 1996. Ever since Konami has sold over 80 million copies worldwide. Both franchises launch a new game every year. Despite the frequency of the releases these games tend to be very positively received, not only by the general public and soccer fans, but also by video game critics.

The new installments of the series FIFA 17 and PES 2017 are bringing their rivalry to a new level. Gamers and reviewers see the gap in terms of quality of these two games to keep on narrowing. It is becoming very much a choice in terms of type of gameplay and community, what game are your friends playing. After several years in which FIFA seemed to reign supreme, many argue that PES has taken over their Electronic Art's rival.
