Bonfire Night is celebrated in the UK on 5 November. It is a night in which bonfires and fireworks are lit in to commemorate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot. Traditionally people burnt the effigy of Guy Fawkes who was one of the plotters planning to blow up the House of the Lords and assassinate King James I.

On netivist protests are channelled in a much more constructive way. Here you can participate in our polls, debates, and petitions.

The funny thing is the marketization of Guy Fawkes night... you need to pay a fee to watch the fireworks you have already paid for with your taxes... ummm
