WWI Armisitice 17 November

Honoring the Armistice Day

Armistice Day, or Veterans Day in the US, is commemorated every year on 11 November in rememberance of the signature of the armistice agreement between Germany and the Allies of First World War at Compiègne, France on 1918. Germany recognized the military defeat and hostilities in the Western Front ended. The armistice took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning, the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918. On netivist we honored the memory of those who suffered during the "Great War".
