On 22 September fans of fantasy and the universe of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings celebrate the Hobbit Day.
In J.R.R. Tolkien's books both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the most important Hobbits in the history of the Middle-Earth, were born on the 22 September. Bilbo was born in the year 2890 and Frodo in the year of 2968 in the Third Age (which according to the Shire-Reckoning correspond to the years 1290 and 1368). The American Tolkien Society introduced both the Tolkien week and the Hobbit day in 1978.
Happy Hobbit day to all Netivists!!
