The Canary and the Balearic Islands are among the preferred holiday destinations for Europeans. Which of the two you prefer?

Enchanting Spanish Islands

The two Spanish archipelagos: the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands are very touristic islands and probably among the best destinations in Europe if you look for sun, beach, nature and relaxing time.

The Canary Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean near the Northwest African Coast. The Canary Islands include Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. These are very diverse islands which enjoy a subtropical climate and offer tourists many natural attractions, including vocanoes, national parks and attractive beaches.

The Balearic Islands are located in the Mediterranean sea. They include four major islands: Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera. In addition to beautiful landscapes and beaches the Balearic Islands are famous for their nightlife and electronic music, in particular Majorca and Ibiza.

I would say I prefer the Canary Islands, but just the natural and not that touristic places, like the northen part of Tenerife (Mercedes Forest) or La Palma (Bosque de los Tilos forest is one of the most important laurel forests in the Canary Islands, a fragile ecosystem inherited from the tertiary age which was declared as a World Biosphere Reserve). In La Palma, you can also observe the Crater of Taburiente from above and see how it looks like a boiling pan. The climate in Canary Island is also much better than in Balearic Islands.
