CFL vs NFL

Football is one of the most popular American sports, alongside Baseball, Basketball and Hockey. However, American and Canadian football have their origins in rugby football. Football was introduced to North America in Canada by the British Army in the mid-18th century. Ever since the sport not only grew in popularity but also evolved quite differently in both USA and Canada. The rules in the major leagues of football in these countries, CFL and NFL show some important discrepancies. The field is larger in Canadian football and there are more players in each team (12 instead of 11). In the NFL, the offense has 4 downs to make a first down, score a touchdown or kick a field goal. In the CFL, the offense has only 3 downs. In the NFL teams have 3 timeouts per half, while in CLF they have only 1. Moreover there are some differences in the scoring, overtime, field goal post location, fair catches and punt returns.

All these differences have an impact in the strategies, tactics and tempo of the game. Which rules produce a more entertaining game, those of the Canadian or the American league?
