However at the same time fashion has never been as democratic as today. The number of people in the world that can afford fashion products has also grown. Innovation, originality, new materials and variety of choice are some of the arguments used to justify the high prices. Larger margins, promotion costs and the high fees of star designers may be other reasons for such increases.
