What do you think of Legolas appearing in "The Hobbit"?

The actor Orlando Bloom interprets again the elf Legolas in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug" and in "The Battle of the Five Armies". In the Hobbit trilogy Jackson has introduced new links with the other Tolkien's classic "The Lord of the Rings". One of the most noticeable references is the important role played by Legolas in the second instalment of the trilogy. Legolas' impressive fighting skills have been both praised and criticised. I did not like Legolas in the Hobbit, although the reason was not respecting the book but the completely over the top fighting skills that made the movie become almost a parody

First of all, Legolas should not be part of the Hobbit (it's not in the book). And, more importantly, his role is ridiculous. Those action scenes are so extremes that you can only laugh at the exageration.
