Thanks to tourism French, Italian or Spanish food have expanded worldwide. People that try the dishes from these countries tend to fall in love with them.

I agree with you that for some years, many of the most renowned chefs in the world come from Spain. I'm sure their cuisine is fantastic, but unfortunately I have never had the pleasure to try their food. It is way beyond my means, I'm afraid. But from a practical point of view, on a daily basis, I think Italian food is the best. It is cheap, fast to cook, healthy and the whole family likes it. I also love Spanish and French food and try to make dishes from these countries. But French food is a bit too fatty in my opinion and what most people eat in Spain on a daily basis nowadays is not necessarily what is known about "mediterranean diet". I think the Italians have remained truer to themselves in that respect.
