Russian literature is extremely rich. We debate who was the greatest Russian novelist of all times: Fyodor Dostoyevsky or Leo Tolstoy. Vote and discuss.
They are two giants of world literature. Fyodor Dostoyevsky ( 1821 – 1881) and Leo Tolstoy (1828 – 1910) regularly top the polls of most influential novelists. Literature experts have extensively debated about who was the greatest Russian novelist. Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy were famously prolific and share a deep concern with the human condition. However, their writing style and portrayals of 19th century Russian society could not be more different. Tolstoy's earlier interest in the role of man in history later made way for an increasingly moralising tone, whereas Dostoevsky's moving depictions of poverty and despair have been described as hysteric and overly theatrical by some. Which of the two gets your vote: the author of "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina", or the mind that created "Crime And Punishment" and "The Brothers Karamazov"? My name is Amelia Jonathan from the United States, Using this opportunity to thank Dr. Ughulu is a grateful thing to me, for over years I have been sick with Hepatitis B disease, I have done a lot of things to get cured of my diseases and nothing has worked out.
