Who was the worst president?
There is much controversy about the achievements and failures of American Presidents. Some of them have been criticized for not dealing properly with the major issues in America. Certainly voters partly inform their votes by assessing present and past presidents. In fact, Republican and Democrat candidates try to capitalize on the success of "their" presidents and the failures of the White House other party's incumbents. Historical legacies play a major role in voters' decisions when chosing candidates from the GOP or the Democratic party.
Now we want to ask about who do you think has been the worst President since Reagan. The options:
- Ronald Reagan (1911–2004), Republican, President from January 20, 1981 to January 20, 1989, Vice President: George H. W. Bush. Controversies: Iran-Contra Affair, Inslaw Affair, the HUD rigging scandal, several EPA scandals, savings and loan crisis, many failed nominations for the federal judiciary.
- George H. W. Bush (born 1924), Republican, President from January 20, 1989 to January 20, 1993, Vice President: Dan Quayle. Controversies: Villapando scandal, Panama invasion, intervention in Somali Civil War, "no new taxes" pledge.
- Bill Clinton (born 1946), Democrat, President from January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001, Vice President: Al Gore. Controversies: Paula Jones and Lewinsky scandals, Elian Gonzalez affair, presidential pardons, Al-Shifa plant bombing, attacks on camps in Afghanistan.
- George W. Bush (born 1946), Republican, President from January 20, 2001 to January 20, 2009, Vice President: Dick Cheney. Controversies: federal prosecutors scandal, Iraq invasion and "mission accomplished", Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay detainment camp, Hurrican Katrina crisis, market crash of 2008.
- Barack Obama (born 1961), Democrat, President from January 20, 2009, Vice President: Joe Biden. Controversies: failure to close the Guantanamo Bay camp, Benghazi attack, drone strikes, American-led intervention in Syria, withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
